Located at 4000 SW 37th Boulevard
I really liked this one, but it reminded me a lot of the place I'm staying at now and that's not a good thing. It's a lot of glitter, but underneath there's no substance. A big draw back is that they only offer 4/2 and 3/2's. Two people in the apartment share the same bathroom, while the person with a private bath pays more. The price was reasonable, and they offer individual leases. $419 for the rooms that share bathrooms and $449 for the private bath. That price is all inclusive, with a $40 utility cap. The girl that showed us the apartment said the most she ever went over was around 5 dollars, but after having experienced the utility cap this year I don't quite believe her. The price also fluctuates with every amenity. Wood floors, granite counter tops and extra lighting cost extra. It also costs extra to have a pool side apartment. For pets they charge $100 and $15 a month per pet. They also only let each resident have one pet. I could see this apartment easily costing over $500. The biggest downside though is that the apartments are fully furnished, and they will not remove the furniture. That alone will probably disqualify this place because both Lance and I have furniture and neither of us want to get rid of our stuff. Location is also an issue because it's a little bit further from campus than Lance is comfortable with.
There are a lot of pluses though:
Screen in porches
The most awesome pool I've ever seen
Individual leases
Great weight room
printing room/ study rooms
All inclusive rent including cable and internet
They have a washer and dryer in the unit
Lots of activities like basketball courts, volleyball courts, grills and picnic tables.
At the end of the day though, I'm not getting rid of my furniture and I don't want to share a bathroom that's in the hall. It reminds me too much of living at home again. So I think I can say we won't be staying at Gateway at Gainesville either.
